What Actually Happens on the Day

Many couples arrive not quite knowing what to expect. Here is an honest, step-by-step walkthrough of the experience at INAI WEDDING WASOU.

Step 1: Arrival (5 minutes before your booking)

The studio is on a street-level shopfront in Asakusa, just 3 minutes’ walk from Kaminarimon Gate. Arrive 5 minutes before your booking time — no earlier, as the previous session may still be in progress.

Step 2: Hair styling (40–60 minutes)

Your session begins with hair styling. Our professional stylists offer both traditional Japanese bridal hairstyles and modern alternatives. You can bring reference photos — our stylists are used to working with international guests and will do their best to match your vision.

Step 3: Kimono dressing (30–40 minutes)

Next, certified kimono dressers help you into your chosen wedding kimono. This takes time — a formal kimono involves many layers — but our dressers work efficiently while making sure you are comfortable. All underwear and accessories are provided; you genuinely need to bring nothing.

Step 4: The photo session (30–60 minutes depending on plan)

Once dressed, your English-speaking photographer takes over. For location shoots, you walk to nearby Asakusa spots — Kaminarimon Gate, Senso-ji Temple forecourt, Nakamise shopping street, or quieter backstreets depending on the time of day and crowds. Your photographer knows the best angles and timing to avoid tourist crowds in the background.

For studio shoots, you remain inside our professionally lit studio — ideal if the weather is bad or if you prefer a more controlled environment.

Step 5: Photo delivery

All edited photos are delivered within approximately four weeks via email or DM. There are no per-photo charges — you receive everything.

Asakusa Photo Locations: What to Expect

Asakusa is one of Tokyo’s most photogenic districts — but it is also busy. Here is what to know about each main location:

  • Kaminarimon Gate — The iconic red lantern gate. Best photographed early morning before crowds arrive. Our photographers time shots carefully.
  • Senso-ji Temple forecourt — Dramatic architecture with pagoda. Popular but manageable on weekday mornings.
  • Nakamise shopping street — Traditional wooden shopfronts make a beautiful backdrop. Less crowded toward the temple end.
  • Backstreets and alleyways — Often the most beautiful shots come from the quieter streets around the temple complex, away from tourist crowds.
