Why a Kimono Photoshoot Is Perfect for a Japan Honeymoon
Most honeymooners visiting Japan take hundreds of photos on their phones. A professional kimono photoshoot gives you something entirely different — images that capture not just where you were, but who you were together in that moment, in garments that carry centuries of meaning.
- Formal wedding kimono — The same garments worn by Japanese brides and grooms at actual wedding ceremonies
- Asakusa’s iconic backdrops — Kaminarimon Gate, Senso-ji Temple, traditional streets — locations that exist nowhere else on earth
- A private, guided experience — Your own English-speaking photographer, focused entirely on you
- Photos that last forever — Professionally edited images delivered to you wherever you are in the world
Which Plan Is Best for Honeymooners?
Bridal Photography Plan — ¥99,800
The most popular choice for honeymooning couples. You dress in formal wedding kimono and spend 60 minutes shooting at Asakusa’s most iconic locations with your English-speaking photographer. The experience feels genuinely romantic — walking through historic streets in beautiful kimono, pausing for photos at lantern-lit gates and temple courtyards.
Included: Premium kimono, dressing, hair styling, accessories, English-speaking photographer, 60-minute Asakusa location shoot, all edited photos.
Asakusa Bridal & Rickshaw Tour — ¥126,600
The ultimate honeymoon experience. After dressing and hair styling, you shoot at Asakusa’s landmark locations — and then board a traditional Japanese rickshaw for a sightseeing tour through the district, with your photographer capturing the journey. Arriving at Senso-ji Temple by rickshaw in full wedding kimono is something very few visitors ever experience.
Included: Everything in the Bridal Photography plan, plus traditional rickshaw sightseeing through Asakusa.
How to Fit a Kimono Photoshoot Into Your Tokyo Itinerary
The full experience takes approximately 3 hours. Here is how most honeymooning couples structure their day:
- Morning session (9:00–12:00) — Arrive at the studio, dress, shoot at Asakusa locations while crowds are still manageable. Finish in time for a late lunch at one of Asakusa’s excellent restaurants.
- Afternoon session (13:00–16:00) — A relaxed option if you prefer a slower morning start. Asakusa is busier in the afternoon, but your photographer knows how to work around crowds.
Asakusa is also one of Tokyo’s best dining and shopping areas — we recommend pairing your shoot day with dinner at a traditional Japanese restaurant in the area.
