ABOUT USThe Charm of Japan’s Tradition

Japanese weddings are celebrated with unique traditions and beautiful attire. “Wasou” – wearing a kimono, carries deep significance as the garment worn by the bride and groom to honor their special day. It reflects culture, values, and aesthetic sensibilities.
The Beauty of Wasou
白無垢 – Shiro Muku

The Shiro-muku is a pure white kimono, the most formal and elegant wedding garment worn by the bride. The color “white” symbolizes purity and new beginnings, making it a popular choice for weddings.

The Iro Uchikake is a vibrant and intricately embroidered kimono, often worn over the wedding kimono. Its vivid colors and patterns, typically featuring reds and golds, express the bride’s individuality and the joy and blessings of her family.
色打掛 – Iro Uchikake
紋付袴 – Montsuki Hakama

The Montsuki hakama, worn by the groom, consists of a black or dark navy haori (jacket) and hakama (trousers), representing formal attire suitable for a high-status wedding. Its design is simple yet dignified, symbolizing the groom’s respect for the occasion.
